It's important to live and not get so hung up on the past. The past is called the past for a reason. If you are constantly looking behind you, your eyes aren't on the road ahead. You don't drive a car that way, so why would you live your life that way?
When Kacey is face to face with Jake for the first time in 2 years, she doesn't expect, first the pull she have towards them and the proposition he made her. She will have to go back home for the weekend and go as Jake's fiance.
Of course she thinks it's a bad and stupid idea, but Jake an be persuasive and dropping the "my grandma is sick", makes Kacey to jump on board.
How to act around Jake, when they didn't speak for 2 years? When they came from being the closest friends to being awkward around each other? When she feels she loved him all her life while he in the first opportunity left her!
Now she only hopes that Jake's brother aka Satan, won't be there to make her life hell...
Why does she think Travis is the Satan? Well, while growing up, Kacey and Jake were best friends and inseparable and Travis will always be there with them, pulling awful pranks to Kacey. He spent her childhood tormenting her and she would also prank him back for payback.
But this was what 8 years old Travis thought at the time...
He knew for a fact Kacey loved princess stories. She would talk about how girls are supposed to be treated like princesses, and boys are supposed to be princes.
But how was he supposed to be a prince when there were no dragons to slay? How could he prove himself when there were no monsters? Good thing he was the smartest kid in his class.
He knew just what to do.
All he had to do was cause the trouble and then save her from it.
Travis always loved Kacey and Kacey always thought that Travis hated her *facepalm to my adorable fools*
Now, when Kacey gets to Jake's house, she doesn't expect her reaction to Travis. The way he smiles makes things to her and now, she can truly have a deep conversation with him.
And all the sparks and emotions fly all around us *sigh
"Where have you been all my life?"
"Home. I've been home, waiting for you."
