Are you getting the excitement?
Good! Because this series is FANTASTIC!!
(I still don't know how I'll be coping with the waiting for the 3rd book *sigh).

Even the end of the world can't keep us from wanting to belong, I guess.

Dystopia and Angels it really is a winning combination! And if you like me war blown away by the first book, you're love this one even more. Why? Because it got's darker, grittier, horrific and intenser than ever.
Action packed, thrilling and complex, the world building is just brilliant.

She truly is one of my favorite characters ever, i just love her. And in this one she is showing her potential and above all, she shines in this book. We see how much of a hero she is, warrior,a leader, always trying to figure out how to do the right thing.
And still, she can be so funny, with all her teasing and banter. And she still can be a girl, although she did had to grow up so fast.

I want to see him in a different kind of moment.
One where he's cocky and in control.
One where he's experiencing something other than threats and pain,if only for two seconds. That, and I'm dying to know what he felt during our kiss.
I know it doesn't matter. I know it won't change anything.
I know it's juvenile. Whatever.
Can't a girl be a girl for,like, five minutes?

You can Penryn, you sure can ;)

(i know it's a quote from the 1st book but just look at the pic, GORGEOUS!)

The prisoners scream when they see Raffe with his demon wings.

It's painful to see that people prefer a bad guy who looks like an angel
to a good guy who looks like a demon.

Gosh, it pains just to read this quote and how true it is. But we all know how Raffe amazing he is!

Now, although it [ did took ages from here to appear again and then, to be reunited with Penryn - WHICH WAS PERFECT, BRILLIANT and asdfghjkl we got to know plenty more about him in this book. The flashbacks we got were soooo GOOD!

Pooky Bear

Now you must be wondering what kind of character is called Pooky Bear, am I right?
Well, it's not a living being BUT it's the most awesome object ever. Oh yes, Pooky Bear is a kick-ass archangel sword! Yeah, it was Raffe's sword but now Penryn is the carrier.

Here is one reaction to when they discover the name of the sword...

"What is it?"
"Pooky Bear."
His friendly face suddenly becomes serious,
"You're naming your collector's-item, kick-ass sword that's made to maim and kill, specifically designed to bring your ginormous enemies to their knees and hear the lamentation of their women - Pooky Bear?"
"Yeah, you like it?

And don't let me start on Raffe's reaction, I laughed so hard that I cried, aha. Seriously, one of the best scenes oft he book.

Now, not only the name is awesome, but the sword also have a personality (of sorts) and have powers. Like share with Penryn some memories and even training her how to fight in her dreams. Now, how cool is that?

Yep, I LOVED it so much!
It have been over a month since I read it, and just by reading the highlights and notes I did while reading, made me want to re-read the whole series again.Just so you know how good this books are!

The plot, the action, monsters, angels, apocalypse, the bantering was just GREAT!

"This was what she'd been looking for, she thought happily.
Closeness. Belonging. And she'd found it."

Oh yes, it's Christmas time in Fool's Gold too! And like the song "love is all around us",haha.

This is the second book I read in this series and I just love it! The hopeless romantic in me just jumps around feeling all giddy and excited while reading it.
If I would come up just one word to describe it, it would be LOVELY! Sure there is a lot of "clichés" from romantic comedies but I simply don't care!
I loved the characters, especially Noelle, for being so optimistic and after going through so many hardships, she learned how to take chances and enjoy life. And most of all don't take anything for granted.
Gabriel sure is a swoon worthy hero, an army doctor, with many issues of his own, that opposed to Noelle, learned to not take a chance, to not grab happiness because it can be take away in an instant.
But this two connect, besides chemical attraction, they become friends and so much more.

After I finish this book, my first thought really was "I need to move to Fool's Gold". :D

Best Reads of 2013 #1 - Favorite Series || part 1

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry for being the last couple of days away from the blog but well, life got on the way! I still have some reviews to write and hopefully a few couple of books to read before this year ends.

Anyway, that just reminded me how much of a good year for reading 2013 was! It was the year that I read the most (over 200 books) and the year that I read so many hidden gems. So many books ended up on my favorites books pile and even my all time favorites! It was a year to discover new authors, new stories, new worlds.

What's the best way to celebrate this amazing reads? Just giving a quick recap of my favorite ones!

So it's time for my favorite series that I read this year :

  • Experiment in Terror by Karina Halle

Dex and Perry, the amazing duo!I love this two to pieces! And Dex? Oh my, the things that man does to me!*fanning myself
And don't let me start in this series, is just AMAZING!!!

Come Alive- Experiment in Terror by Karina Halle- this is a must read series!!

It's scary (like SCARY, TERRIFYING but oh so good), it's emotional, it's funny, it's real.

  • Slammed by Colleen Hoover

What to say about this series? It's just beautiful! It's a moving and heartwarming story, full of soul and love. Love from all kinds, lover to lover, mother to her children, best friends and so on.

  • If I Stay by Gayle Forman

A story about grieve and the choice to live, even when everything seems lost. I loved the first book but the second one was off the charts. I was a sobbing mess and devoured each word.

  • Fever by Karen Marie Moning

If you haven't already you need to catch the fever! Damn this series is just so damn good! By far one of my favorite PNR series ever! One kick ass heroine, one mysterious and dark and alluring anti-hero, fairies like you never seen before and twist after twist.
Oh and did I mentioned how much I love the anti-hero called Barons?

Did you fainted? hahaha.

So this is it for today! Tomorrow I'll share more favorites of mine.
Have you read any of them? What were your favorite series this year?
